Ryan Greenstein
YMCA of Metro Atlanta
Ryan Greenstein serves as the Director of Advocacy and Public Policy for the YMCA of Metro Atlanta, the city’s oldest nonprofit. Ryan supports the Y’s advocacy efforts on several issues, including drowning prevention and defending federal funding for Y programs. As part of this role, Ryan manages the Atlanta Water Safety Coalition in partnership with the City of Atlanta’s Department of Park and Recreation.
He previously served as the Associate Director of Public Policy for The Carter Center’s Mental Health Program and spent almost a decade in various advocacy roles in Washington, D.C. Ryan has been recognized for his advocacy on The Hill’s Top Lobbyist List twice, is a frequent conference speaker and academic guest lecturer on advocacy tactics. He’s been featured and quoted in numerous Atlanta media outlets including the Atlanta Journal Constitution and national outlets such as Politico.
He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland, College Park, and received his Master of Public Administration degree from The George Washington University. He is also a part-time instructor of public administration at Kennesaw State University.
