Climate Adaptation Manager
City of San Antonio’s Department of Resilience and Sustainability

Kate Jaceldo began serving as Climate Adaptation Manager for the City of San Antonio’s Department of Resilience and Sustainability in April 2023. Prior to working for the City, she spent over 10 years in various settings helping young adults and families create meaningful education and life plans based on individual and community strengths. She then co-founded and spent 7 years running ran San Antonio’s first residential and commercial composting company. In her current role she works alongside other departments to embed climate resilience into a variety of projects. She has also implemented and overseen the City’s inaugural Climate Action Fund Business and Community Grant Program, launched and manages the Climate Ready Neighborhoods Network of community-based resilience hubs and neighborhood PODs, and developed the Pilot Low Income Community Resilience Program. She brings into the role 15 years of community work that has been rooted in asset-based community development and a deep love for her adopted hometown. She believes building community is our greatest response to our rapidly changing climate
