Ross Hosea currently serves as the Urban Forestry Division Manager for the City of San Antonio’s Parks and Recreation Department. He is an urban forestry expert with over 30 years of experience in the industry and is a certified Arborist through the International Society of Arboriculture. A fluent speaker in the language of trees, Ross has experience in a multitude of traditional and urban forestry roles from teaching and research at Mississippi State University with a focus on tree identification and the effects of urban forestry on soil nutrition to private sector roles in forest consulting, timber production, and managing a tree care company. He seeks to preserve the health and longevity of San Antonio’s urban forest for future generations to enjoy through his passion and dedication to implementing key forestry initiatives across the region.
