As climate change accelerates, parks and recreational spaces are on the frontlines—bearing the brunt of extreme heat, floods, drought, invasive species, and degraded ecosystems. But they’re also among our most powerful tools for resilience. This Peer Conversation explores how parks departments across the country are responding to climate threats with innovation, equity, and nature-based solutions. Discussion leaders will dive into the difficult questions: How do we redesign parks for both people and pollinators? What does climate-ready tree canopy management really look like? How can equity be centered in resilience investments? And what role can recreation programming play in building social cohesion before the next disaster?
