With more than 16 years of service at the City of Austin, Leah has built extensive experience in land/vegetation management and stormwater infrastructure maintenance.

During her time as a program manager in Austin Watershed Protection, she led the development of short- and long-term stewardship plans for hundreds of floodplain buyout properties, helping shape practical yet sustainable approaches to floodplain and natural area management. Leah has also played a key role in implementing new initiatives focused on land stewardship and workforce development, including the Watershed Wildflower Meadow Program and the Austin Civilian Conservation Corps, both of which support environmental resilience and green career pathways.

Currently, Leah serves as a division manager, leading a team of 50 dedicated staff responsible for delivering critical maintenance and operational support for Austin’s creeks and channels.
