Xochitl Coronado-Vargas

Xochitl is the Public Outreach Coordinator with the City of Tucson’s Green Stormwater Infrastructure program, Storm to Shade. In her role she utilizes various strategies to engage with the public and seek input during design, construction and maintenance of green stormwater infrastructure (GSI).

Xochitl creates and delivers engaging and educational content about GSI, builds relationships with community members, and is responsive to community needs. Xochitl has participated in the Pima County Connecting Children to Nature Coalition Steering Committee for several years, advocating for equitable nature-based infrastructure within Pima County.

Xochitl holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Arizona and has worked in non-profits and other public sector institutions throughout Tucson to build and deliver processes and programing that bring positive outcomes to underserved and marginalized communities.
