Tom Wald

Tom Wald is the Executive Director and co-founder of the Red Line Parkway Initiative, which supports the 36-mile trail and linear park along the CapMetro Rail Red Line from Downtown Austin to Cedar Park and Leander. He also serves on the boards of Austin Outside and Safe Streets Austin.

As Executive Director of Bike Austin from 2009-2014, he played an instrumental role in advancing the Austin metro protected bike lane, pedestrian, and trail networks.

He moved to Austin from his hometown of Minneapolis in 1999, and has degrees in physics and philosophy. He enjoys bicycling, hiking, and live music.
