Sam Acosta serves as the Director of Community and Government Affairs at Trinity Park Conservancy, where he acts as a vital bridge between the organization and the local community. With over a decade of civil service experience across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, Sam brings a deep understanding of how public projects can—and should serve the diverse needs of the community.

Since joining the Conservancy, Sam has spearheaded high-impact initiatives designed to empower residents, including property tax protest education series and workforce development programs. By fostering collaborations with local nonprofits and organizing community job fairs, he ensures that the development of public space goes hand-in-hand with economic opportunity and residential stability.

Prior to his work at the Conservancy, Sam held leadership roles at both the Federal and State levels. His tenure as Chief of Staff for State Representative Lorraine Birabil and Director of Constituent Services for Congressman Colin Allred (as well as his work with Congressman Marc Veasey) allowed him to advocate for residents from all walks of life. From coordinating COVID-19 testing sites to navigating complex veteran and immigrant services, Sam’s experience gives him a unique perspective on how public projects can truly benefit local families.At the Conservancy, Sam leverages his extensive network and legislative expertise to ensure that the future of Dallas’s natural spaces is built on a foundation of equity, community input, and government cooperation.
