Penelope Gorman

Penelope Gorman (she/her) is the Executive Director of the Friends of James River Park, a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to conservation and access to the City of Richmond’s James River Park System. She joined the Friends after serving as a City of Richmond employee for over a decade, where she founded and managed the City’s outdoor education team, led partnership development efforts, and advanced policies to strengthen the Park’s role as a cornerstone of Richmond’s identity and a key to its natural resilience. Penelope is an avid whitewater kayaker and mountain biker.
