Marilu Tavagna
Austin Parks and Recreation
Marilu serves as the ADA Project Coordinator for Austin Parks and Recreation, focusing on enhancing access for individuals with disabilities.
Over the years, she has gained valuable experience in both the public and private sectors, initially concentrating on sustainable practices working on integrating natural resources into urban environments and contributing to various vision and master plans. Subsequently, her work shifted to social integration, particularly working on ADA transition plans across the country.
In 2022, Marilu decided to join Austin Parks and Recreation to further her efforts in promoting accessibility and remove architectural barriers.
She is a Registered Accessibility Specialist in Texas and a Certified ADA Coordinator, holding master’s degrees in architecture and sustainable urban planning from the University IUAV of Venice, Italy.
Marilu has a deep appreciation for Austin’s outdoor spaces and enjoys exploring every nook of the city. She is committed to ensuring that people of all abilities have equal opportunities to experience these wonderful environments.
