Jayne Miller

Jayne Miller is Founder & CEO of Jayne Miller Consulting and Principal at PROS Consulting. Her consulting work focuses on supporting urban park systems and advancing equity in parks and recreation developing equitable funding and policy plans for Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Louisville, and Baltimore park systems.

Prior to shifting to consulting in 2020, Jayne served as the President & CEO of the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy (PPC) in Pittsburgh, PA.; Superintendent of the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board (MPRB) in Minneapolis, MN.; and Community Services Area Administrator and Manager of Parks and Recreation with the City of Ann Arbor, MI. Under Jayne’s leadership, the PPC received the National Recreation and Park Association’s 2020 Innovation in Social Equity Award and the Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society’s 2020 Award of Excellence for the Restoring Pittsburgh Parks Initiative, and the MPRB received the Minnesota Recreation and Park Association’s 2017 Award of Excellence for the 20-Year Neighborhood Park Plan.

While Superintendent, the Minneapolis Park System was rated as the #1 park system in the U.S. six consecutive years by the Trust for Public Land and was a Gold Medal Finalist for Excellence in Park and Recreation three consecutive years. February 3, 2024 was proclaimed Jayne Miller Day in the City of Minneapolis recognizing her work as Superintendent of MPRB and in 2024 Jayne was named MPRB Superintendent Emeritus and received a Lifetime Achievement Award from World Urban Parks.

Currently, Jayne is Past Board Chair of World Urban Parks and CAPRA Commission and is an American Academy of Park and Recreation Administration and Salzburg Global Seminar Fellow.
