Germán Enríquez is an internationally recognized leader in urban park management, sustainability, and climate resilience. He serves as Chair of the Climate Change and Resilience Committee for World Urban Parks, advancing nature-based solutions and operational strategies to prepare cities for a changing climate through its park systems. Founder of KOEN Consulting, he provides strategic advice, master planning, and training for park organizations across Latin America.
As founder and former director of San Pedro Parques in Mexico, he led the city to earn eight Green Flag Awards in just 30 months, becoming the most certified city in Latin America. Previously, as Director of the Metropolitan Park of León, he helped it gain recognition as one of the world’s eight most valuable parks by World Urban Parks. The first Mexican to achieve Certified Parks Professional International status, Germán has advised on over 42 public space projects worldwide and teaches at Tec de Monterrey university.
