David Goldstein

David Goldstein serves as the Land Water Conservation Fund’s (LWCF) Competitive Programs Manager. After 13 years of previous work with the National Park Service he came to LWCF specifically to build and lead the team that runs the Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership competition.
David holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology from Southern Illinois University and his research documented sustainable resource use in agricultural communities. Previously he served as the NPS Northeast Region’s Cultural Anthropologist, was stationed in Detroit, MI as an NPS Urban Fellow, and began his NPS service as the Interpretation Division Chief for the three NPS units on St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands.
Our LWCF Competitive Programs team oversees the Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership and Readiness and Environmental Protection Integration grant opportunities. These grants offer extensive partnership resources for land acquisition and facility rehabilitation to communities. Their goal is to bring the NPS mission to communities, by expanding recreation, conservation, and economic opportunities for Americans living in rural and urban areas.
