Candace Chapman is an Associate Director at JLP+D, where she leads strategic real estate and economic development initiatives and helps clients advance transformative placemaking projects. Her career has spanned real estate development, public accounting, corporate finance, and regional economic development, with a focus on turning underutilized spaces into vibrant, connected places. Before joining JLP+D, she led real estate and grant strategies for a regional economic development organization in Indiana, securing over $100 million in public and private investment to revitalize downtown areas and launch community-driven initiatives. Her work has included strategic planning, historic preservation, deal structuring, and managing complex public-private partnerships; she also brings experience as a CPA with PwC and a Fortune 500 company. Having lived and worked in cities including London, Chicago, Charlotte, Evansville, and Denver, she brings firsthand perspective on the power of placemaking across communities of all sizes. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University, a Master of Community and Economic Development from Penn State University, and a Certificate in Real Estate Development from Cornell University.
