Step into the serene beauty of the Texas Hill Country with the organization Cultured Forest for an immersive introduction to Shinrin-Yoku, or “Forest Bathing.” This Japanese practice of mindfully connecting with nature has been shown to reduce stress, boost well-being, and restore balance.
Guided by Cultured Forest founder Brooke Mellen—who trained in Japan and holds a certificate in Forest Medicine—you’ll experience gentle, nature-based meditations, mindful walking exercises, and intentional moments of stillness. Along the way, you’ll build community with fellow nature lovers while discovering mindfulness practices you can carry into everyday life.
The session concludes with a light snack and tea tasting, offering a peaceful moment of reflection. Featured by the Today Show, WSJ Magazine, and Vogue, Cultured Forest brings a globally recognized practice to Austin’s own backyard.
Note: Expect a relaxed walk of about half a mile. Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes; hats and sunscreen are recommended for warm days. You will be required to cross a stream and go over some rocks, and up and down stairs. A Waiver of Participation is required.
