Do you want to exercise your creativity? Take your best shot at our Nature Photography Workshop. Set amidst the stunning Central Library in downtown Austin, this unique and immersive experience will give you a chance to build a new skill to capture the city’s landscape.  Participants will have the opportunity to learn the basics of photography such as lighting, composition, and elements of storytelling before heading out into the field and photographing the view around them. No experience and no fancy equipment necessary, we ask only that folks have a Smartphone, tablet, or camera of their choice capable of taking pictures.

Built into the workshop is a nature tour of the Central Library focusing on native plants and trees, complete with an exploration of our green roof and surrounding Shoal Creek Trail.  Learn about Central Texas drought-tolerant species and green infrastructure all while engaging your artistic side. We’ll close our workshop with a photo share, where we’ll review our collective body of work and admire our joint gallery. Participants will even have the chance to get published city wide to our @naturecityatx Instagram and Facebook account. Don’t miss this opportunity to get the inside view of some of Austin’s most treasured features and share with others!

Note: Bring your Smartphone or camera.
