Join us for a tour of the beautiful Colony Park District Park, on 93 acres of parkland in east Austin situated within the Colony Park Sustainable Community (CPSC). The CPSC is a City and community led effort to develop 208 acres of City-owned property in northeast Austin. When complete, the CSPC will deliver approximately 2,000 residential units, 230,000 square feet of mixed-use office and institutional space, and 130,000 square feet of mixed-use retail space and improve access to parks and open spaces and improve quality of life and access to City resources..
The new developments in the District Park (2020) include a brand-new year-round Aquatic Facility (2025) and a community garden (2025) that complements the Recreation Center and Overton Elementary School situated within the Park. The new Aquatic Facility is a community pool with lap lane pool, zero-entry activity pool (tot pool), water slide, spray ground feature, diving board, gender-neutral bathhouse, family restrooms, deck space, training/party room, and aquatic office space. The Colony Park District Park added a baseball field, soccer/multi-sports field, a large play area with elements of nature-based play, fitness equipment, two pavilions, picnic tables, drinking fountains, and a hike and bike trail that connects the adjacent communities. Both projects include art installations that were part of the City of Austin Arts in Public Places (AIPP) program., and were informed by the Master Planning effort that took place in 2013-2014.
