Tonya Pleasant-Wright

Tonya Pleasant-Wright is a native Austinite, Project Manager, and East Austin community leader focused on advancing civic engagement, historic preservation, and equitable access to community spaces. As Vice President of the Givens Advisory Board, she helped re-establish the board, restoring community governance and increasing resident participation in park planning and programming.

She also serves as District 1 Commissioner on the Austin Historic Landmark Commission, where she supports the preservation and recognition of culturally significant sites. Tonya holds a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from Huston-Tillotson University and an MBA from Texas Woman’s University, and serves on multiple nonprofit boards across Central Texas.

Her work is centered on strengthening community voice, building partnerships, and expanding access to impactful programming.
