Beth Larkin brings over 20 years of experience in project management, landscape design, fundraising, and marketing within Austin’s greenspace, parks, and active transportation sectors. She comes to the City from Studio Balcones/Lionheart, where she managed a range of landscape architecture projects across Central Texas, including the landscape design for the Project Connect Light Rail and the construction of Roger Lavon Taylor Sr. Plaza in Mueller.

Prior to that, Beth served as the Membership Director of Austin Outside, a nonprofit coalition advocating for vibrant and equitable outdoor spaces. During her time there, she played a key role in securing $460 million in local bond funding for urban trails, sidewalks, and bikeways for the 2020 Safe Mobility for All bond.

She also spent 9 years on the senior leadership team at The Trail Foundation (now The Trail Conservancy), where she helped develop and lead numerous capital improvement and planning projects along the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail, including the Boardwalk, Seaholm Waterfront, 3 restrooms, and the Trail’s Urban Forestry and Ecological Restoration Guidelines.

Beth earned her degree in Landscape Architecture from Texas A&M University, graduating magna cum laude in 2006. Outside of work, Beth is a passionate reader, knitter, hiker, and community organizer.
