CJ Ryan

CJ Ryan has spent over 15 years in the parks and recreation industry, building a career focused on equitable access, community engagement, and leadership development. She currently serves as Assistant Parks Superintendent at the City of Madison Parks Division, where she has overseen operations, community services, and public information since 2022. In this role, she serves as executive sponsor of the Madison LakeWay project, leading the funding strategies and partnerships necessary to bring the project to life. Prior to Madison, she served as Administrative Officer for the Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services Department at the City of San José. Throughout her career, she has championed racial equity in parks and worked to ensure that public spaces are welcoming and accessible to all. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Portuguese with a Certificate in Environmental Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master of Arts in Kinesiology from San José State University.
