Join leaders from established, larger-capacity citywide park nonprofits from around the U.S. for a private, collegial peer conversation on pertinent topics such as:
- Models for community-based grant programs, including best practices and examples of programs, improvements and activations from Atlanta, Austin and Denver that explore how these grants can provide support for historically disadvantaged communities..
- How fiscal sponsorship removes common barriers for historically excluded communities, enabling local leadership to shape park projects that reflect their cultural, environmental, and social priorities. Case studies from Seattle will explore how fiscal sponsorship fosters community ownership, builds capacity for advocacy, and supports long-term stewardship of parks, helping to shift power dynamics and support collective decision-making and funding access that centers racial and social equity.
- Other topics from attendees.
Note: This Peer Conversation is a closed session for citywide park nonprofit leaders and staff only and is not available to general conference participants. If you represent a citywide park nonprofit, please add your name to the waitlist. Conference organizers will regularly review the waitlist and notify those who are moved into the session or are ineligible to attend so they can register for an alternative.
