Patrick Piuma is a Professor of the Practice in the Department of Urban and Public Affairs at the University of Louisville. He is also the Director of the UofL Urban Design Studio at the Christina Lee Brown Envirome Institute. His work focuses on placemaking, urban design, tactical urbanism, and bringing nature into urban centers for health and revitalization. The Urban Design Studio is currently leading the Envirome Institute’s component of the Greenprint initiative, and leading the development of the Trager MicroForest Project in downtown Louisville,​utilizing nature-based solutions to produce measurable decreases in urban heat and reductions in stress for visitors to the 0.64-acre forest.
