Drew Carman
RVi Planning + Landscape Architecture
Drew Carman is the Director of Park Planning & Design at RVi Planning + Landscape Architecture, where he leads parks, trails, and public open space projects throughout Texas. With nearly two decades of experience working across both the public and private sectors, Drew has built a career centered on designing meaningful, well-crafted, and compelling outdoor places.
Before leading RVi’s public practice in Texas, Drew was the statewide planner for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, where he worked on public use plans, facility development, and master plans for some of Texas’ most beloved state parks. This foundation in the stewardship of public lands continues to inform his design approach today. Carman’s work is grounded in the belief that design is not about decoration; it’s about connection. He believes the work, at its best, becomes a conduit that connects people to the land, and to each other.
Outside of professional practice, Drew maintains an active creative life as an exhibiting oil painter, musician and songwriter. These parallel creative practices inform his design thinking in landscape architecture, reinforcing an intentional approach that values process, storytelling, connection.
