Melissa Ayala

Melissa Ayala serves as the Vice President of Government Relations at Waterloo Greenway Conservancy in Austin, Texas. For nine years, she has helped advance the Waterloo Greenway’s vision to create 35 acres of connected public green space in Downtown Austin.

Melissa engages the community in interactive initiatives designed to spark a diverse and inclusive dialogue on Waterloo Greenway planning and programs. She guides advocacy efforts at the local, regional, and federal level. A first-generation Texan Latina, Melissa spent five years at Austin’s public transit agency and was the organization’s first Spanish-speaking spokesperson.

Melissa holds a B.J. in Journalism and Spanish from The University of Texas at Austin.
