Julie Waterman has over 35 years of experience with non-profit conservation and family planning organizations, focusing on advocacy, coalition building, board management, public relations, and fundraising. As City Parks Alliance’s Advocacy Director, Julie develops and implements strategies to advance national policies and programs that increase federal investment to city parks. Julie also manages City Parks Alliance’s Mayors for Parks Coalition.
Prior to joining City Parks Alliance, she served as the Director of External Relations at Population Action International (PAI). For nearly a decade she was the first President of The Partnership Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit coalition comprised of 20 of the largest environmental advocacy organizations in the country.
Julie graduated from Northwestern University. She has completed three Ironman Triathlons (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run) and has run eight additional marathons. Julie loves spending time in parks with her husband, three children, and their dog Tucker.
