Who We Are

Denver Parks and Recreation (DPR) provides a broad range of programs, services, facilities, and park amenities within the City and County of Denver. The City’s park system encompasses more than 280 urban parks, parkways, and natural areas, totaling over 7,000 acres. The Department boasts more than 14,000 acres of pristine mountain parks, eight golf courses, 24 lakes, more than 87,000 park trees, 187,000 right-of-way trees, over 90 miles of off-street trails, 14 off-leash dog parks, and over 300 athletic fields. The recreation system includes 30 active recreation centers, 16 outdoor pools, and 17 indoor pools and serves approximately 2.25 million visitors annually.

What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $74,000 – $100,000/year. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but is not limited to:

Location

The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. In this position you can expect to work three (3) days in office, and two (2) days remotely. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

What You’ll Do

Denver Parks and Recreation is seeking a Senior Management Analyst to join our team. This position is an exciting opportunity for a data-loving analyst to be part of a growing and collaborative team with a strong departmental vision. This role will focus on administering our new Project Management Information Systems (PMIS), ensuring seamless project delivery, as well as supporting broader operational needs across the agency.

Specifically, as the Senior Management Analyst, you will:

  • Conduct project and financial data analysis, compiling reports for PD&C’s current projects, funded projects, and operational task and workorders
  • Compile and report asset condition assessment information and deferred maintenance information for major department asset categories, and developing mid- and long-term planning strategies to address deferred maintenance on critical asset categories
  • Coordinate annual capital budgeting process and operating budgeting process including Questica data entry and management
  • Serve as a system administrator for the PMIS System
  • Research best practices for data management; analyze, recommend, and implement innovative approaches to systematic data architecture strategy for the department
  • Support the leadership and operational teams in the development of certified performance metrics
  • Conduct movement data analysis related to park usage and capital development

What You’ll Bring

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:

  • Experience with Project Management Information Systems (PMIS)
  • Experience and proficiency in data management and analytics, adept at synthesizing complex data sets and presenting insights in a clear and accessible manner
  • Demonstrated success in leveraging data to drive impactful, results-oriented decisions
  • Experience with business intelligence programs (Power BI preferred)

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Education requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Management, or a related field.
  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience in administrative, management, and operational analysis work which must have included analyzing management problems and recommending solutions and implementation strategies.
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
