Summary
King County Parks is seeking an Administrator II to join our Parks’ Operations team. In this role, you will support and monitor administrative services to meet the business and operational requirements of the Operations Section.
About the Role: The Administrator II positions serve as a liaison between Operations Management and various internal and external groups, while managing complex administrative duties, such as maintaining records, managing schedules, and reviewing invoices. Responsibilities also involve gathering, auditing and processing, and reporting on program/project data.
This role provides a great opportunity to enhance and grow your administrative, collaborative, organizational, and customer service skills. This position will contribute to meaningful projects, policy implementation, records management, and data analysis and reporting. This position performs work remotely and onsite.
About the Team: The Operations Section oversees the upkeep of recreational sites and natural areas across King County, which encompasses parks, trail systems, and open spaces. This responsibility is carried out through a structured framework of geographic districts, work programs, and system-wide support crews.

Job Duties
What You Will Be Doing:
- Perform complex and critical administrative support for Operation Managers and their teams, and other professional staff.
- Research, audit, and interpret administrative and operations policies and procedures and make recommendations in solving issues and concerns.
- Gather data, perform analysis, and prepare reports. Maintain and update data and materials.
- Provide answers and guidance to questions from other Parks groups in a respectful and timely manner.
- Coordinate meetings by reserving conference rooms, registering and scheduling participants, and setting up audio/video equipment.
- Maintain organized, accurate, and accessible records and filing systems, including complex records, invoices, correspondence, and related documents.
- Manage training plans, track attendance, and advise staff of required training.
- Prepare forms required for personnel transactions, requisition forms, purchase orders, and expense reports. Compose, draft, type, proofread, and edit documents and standard operating procedures.
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
Qualifications You Bring:
- Three years experience managing complex administrative duties, daily projects and tasks supporting upper-level management.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a collaborative team, take initiative, apply sound judgement, and problem-solve with high degree of accountability.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously and complete projects with specified deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, work order management systems, and data management systems.
- Demonstrated experience in customer service roles with the ability to effectively engage diverse populations, answer inquiries, and resolve issues for a positive experience.
- Basic knowledge and experience in data management, including collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Ability to interpret and apply policies and guidelines effectively, and ability to provide guidance to stakeholders to ensure application and compliance.
- Experience organizing and coordinating logistics for trainings and events.

- Knowledge of basic principles of project management and data collection practices, procedures, and techniques.
- Familiarity with Parks and Recreation Operations and industry best practices.
Supplemental Information
Working Conditions:
- Remote and Onsite Work Details: Employees in this role work remotely from a home location, with onsite reporting requirements typically 1 – 3 days per week. The frequency of onsite work is determined by business needs and may be adjusted accordingly. This position will report to the Central Maintenance Facility at 3005 NE 4th Ave, Renton WA once construction is completed in 2025. Temporary onsite reporting location is in at Marymoor Pary, located at 6046 West Lake Sammamish Pkwy NE, Redmond, WA 98052. until the Central Maintenance Facility in Renton is complete.
- Remote Work Location Requirement: Employees must reside in Washington State and be within a reasonable distance to King County worksites to meet onsite reporting requirements.
- Work Schedule: This full-time position works a 40-hour work week. Standard shifts take place during Operations business hours from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM. This position is covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is overtime eligible.
