Adams County Climate Justice Team Overview: The Adams County Climate Justice Team is an environmental justice focused part-time temporary employment program for youth. Participants will work on projects focused on improving the physical environment in the Commerce City and South Thornton area. Projects will focus on distributing water purifiers and pitchers to homes in need. Some other activities include attending/planning community events, canvassing homes, and learning about water quality issues in the area. There is potential to help with tree planting and learn how to plant and maintain trees. Participants are expected to work approximately 72 hours between approximately August, 2024 – June 2025, implementing these projects, connecting with community, growing as leaders, and building hard and soft employment skills while learning about the environmental justice issues in this community.
