In our data-driven world, we understand the importance of using data to make good decisions and effectively manage projects at our parks organizations. Maybe you’ve developed some useful datasets. Maybe you have a staff member or two who are highly skilled at analyzing data. Now what? How do you translate that data and expertise into a system that can withstand turnover and adapt to change? How do you operationalize data processes to more effectively manage data in the long-term and use it to address challenges in your park system?

Join us for this peer conversation, which will explore these issues and look at strategies for making data part of your organization’s DNA. We’ll hear from members of the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board’s Data Insights Team, which has centralized data and the projects it touches within the organization. This allows for a more coordinated, proactive, and organized approach to the utilization of data across departments.

Please come prepared to discuss your own efforts around data! Even if you haven’t operationalized your processes yet, we encourage you to share where you are and think about how you could incorporate some of these strategies into your work.
