Empowering Volunteer Leaders Through Trainings and Events

You must be logged into your account to see the tab for the recording and slides.

Volunteers are the backbone of city parks, supporting everything from community cleanups to long-term stewardship. Then there are super-volunteers, community leaders who dream up improvement project ideas, rally fellow volunteers, and work hand-in-hand with agencies and nonprofits.

In this webinar, we’ll showcase two models for empowering and supporting volunteer leaders. You’ll hear about Park Pride’s Park Stewardship Academy in Atlanta, a semester-long training program focused on fundraising, volunteer coordination, Civics 101, and more. You’ll also hear about Austin Park Foundation’s citywide days of service, “It’s My Park Day,” which gives volunteer leaders tools and support to plan and deliver park improvement projects.

Learn practical strategies for cultivating volunteer leaders, expanding volunteer capacity, and increasing volunteer participation in your city parks.
