Mindy Watts

Mindy is a Principal at Interface Studio, a planning and urban design firm based in Philadelphia. In her 20 years at Interface, Mindy has led projects that range from citywide policy strategies to community-driven advocacy efforts.

These days, her work focuses on large-scale data-driven efforts to support the equitable and just allocation of public dollars, services, and other resources. She has shaped equitable park investment strategies in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and the Louisville metro area, and through that work has spent a good deal of time studying park system budgets and thinking about how to bring stories of shrinking funds and resulting service implications to life in compelling ways that capture the attention of citizens and elected officials, better positioning them to advocate for resources. With her background in printmaking, Mindy brings an artistic sensibility to her planning work and the graphic communication that Interface Studio emphasizes.
