Julia Meltzer, Founding Director and Senior Advisor of Community and Government Partnerships, Clockshop
Julia Meltzer comes from a large Los Angeles family who nurtured her belief that art transforms communities. As the Founding Director and Senior Advisor of Clockshop, she has worked for over two decades creating opportunities for artists and audiences to come together on public land deepening their ties to the land we live on. Thousands of Angelenos have had access to arts and culture through Clockshop’s programs. Clockshop’s work at The Bowtie has been instrumental in raising over $10 million dollars to build the next California State Park and Community Center in Los Angeles on the LA River. Meltzer was a John Simon Memorial Guggenheim Foundation Fellow and a Senior Fulbright Fellow in Damascus, Syria.
