John Jackson

John is the Parks and Recreation Practice Area Leader at RATIO Design, a multidisciplinary design firm with studios in Indianapolis, Raleigh, Chicago, Denver and Milwaukee. He has worked at RATIO for 32 years. Since working on the Garfield Park Master Plan in 1994, John has dedicated his practice to the design and planning of parks, and believes they are a critical part of healthy communities.

John’s recent experience includes the Riverside Regional Park Master Plan, the Franke Park Master Plan, Taggart Memorial Amphitheatre, Federal Hill Commons, Fishers Central Green, and the Coffin Golf Course Master Plan. He frequently speaks and writes about parks and public spaces and enjoys playing guitar for farmer’s markets throughout the summer. In addition to his role at RATIO, John has served on the board of the Parks Alliance of Indianapolis for 22 years.
