Meredith Gauthier

Meredith is a Program Manager with City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department, working to expand PARD’s waste diversion plan, and establish goals, procedures, and metrics for all city parks and facilities in support of the City’s Zero Waste goals. She works on development and implementation of wide-ranging sustainability initiatives for the department and enjoys partnering on complex projects with strong ecological goals and a focus on resilience.

She is an Accredited Professional in both LEED BD+C and SITES and holds bachelor’s degrees in Ecology and English from Rice University and master’s degrees in public policy and urban planning from The University of Texas at Austin. She led the Community Gardens Program and Wildlife Austin for PARD previously and prioritizes edible landscapes and wildlife habitat for public spaces.
