Matt Carusona, CPRP, MS is a parks, recreation, and community learning professional specializing in leadership development, marketing, and engagement. He serves as Associate Director of Professional Development and Partner School Director with NC State University’s Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management, where he supports national training programs in partnership with NRPA and Oglebay and helps design high-impact learning experiences.
Matt also works with communities on strategic planning, engagement, and outdoor access initiatives. A certified CliftonStrengths coach, he is known for practical, real-world approaches that emphasize equity, impact, collaboration, and professional growth. His work includes collaboration with the NCAA, City Parks Alliance, TEDx, Major League Baseball, USA Football, Rooted Endurance, Immigrant Welcome Center, various startups, business, and park and recreation agencies. A certified CliftonStrengths coach, Matt brings a practical and impact-focused approach to both supporting communities, students and professionals in the Parks and Outdoor space.
