Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act: Park Funding Sources

Mayor Jim Strickland, City of Memphis, TN

Jim Strickland was sworn in as mayor of Memphis for a second term on January 1, 2020, with a continued pledge to reinvest in the city’s neighborhoods, its citizens, and to keep growing its economy. Mayor Strickland was elected to the Memphis City Council in 2007, and served as its chairman in 2014. Then-councilman Strickland became known for fighting for government transparency and public safety.

Alison Souders, Financial Analyst, EPA

Alison Souders is a Financial Analyst with the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Wastewater Management. Ms. Souders has served as a member of the State Revolving Fund Branch since 2017, where she is a member of a team that implements and evaluates the Clean Water State Revolving Fund and provides technical assistance to EPA’s regional offices.

Camille Crain, Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities Section Chief, FEMA

Camille Crain is the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) Section Chief at FEMA Headquarters, where she designs and administers the BRIC program. Camille previously worked in FEMA Region 6 where she served as the Hazard Mitigation Assistance Branch Chief in the Mitigation Division. She managed FEMA’s three HMA grant programs, administering in excess of $3 billion of mitigation funding.

Julie Waterman, Advocacy Director, City Parks Alliance

As advocacy director, Julie works to advance federal legislation that provides funding for city parks. Julie provides federal grant program assistance, oversees the development of CPA’s advocacy materials, and manages CPA’s Mayors for Parks Coalition, a bipartisan coalition of mayors from large and small cities across the country that advocate for increased federal investment in our nation’s city parks.
