For more than 30 years, Hilary has helped nonprofit organizations raise funds and build capacity for programs that support environmental advocacy, historic preservation, mental health, performing arts, and public schools. Her consultant work with City Parks Alliance since 2007 includes foundation, corporate, and donor development, including programming for the Funders’ Learning Network, CPA’s series of webinars, workshops, and park study tours for grantmakers. In addition to her work with City Parks Alliance, Hilary has had staff or consulting roles in many nonprofits, including Common Cause, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, National Parks Conservation Association, Friends of the Earth, and National Alliance on Mental Illness. Hilary is a graduate of Oberlin College where she studied history and dance. While she has many favorite parks, national and local, she spends the most time in her neighborhood park, Sligo Creek Park, part of the Anacostia River watershed.
