Emma Ruehl joined City Parks Alliance in October 2018 as a digital communications specialist. She has been the organization’s digital marketing & design manager since March 2020. She serves to amplify the importance of urban parks through graphic design, web development, search engine optimization, conversion tracking, email marketing, content development, and social media. Emma is also passionate about championing for internal workflow efficiencies and helping the organization and its staff perform at their highest level.
Prior to City Parks Alliance, Emma was an SEO & conversion specialist at a digital marketing agency in San Antonio, TX, working with nonprofit and for-profit clients. She began her marketing career in college at the YMCA in Pueblo, CO, as their marketing and graphic design coordinator. Emma earned her undergraduate degree in mass communications with minors in art and nonprofit administration at Colorado State University-Pueblo.
In her spare time, Emma enjoys exploring the DMV’s diverse neighborhoods with her husband and her dog, a spunky vizsla named Conan O’Barken. Her favorite local park is Donaldson Run, a rich, tree-canopied, 4-acre park in Arlington, VA, with winding paths and streams.
