Denver Parks and Recreation (DPR) is seeking a Staff Assistant to provide administrative support for the Park Operations team. This is a full-time, exempt, benefited position. This position will have remote flexibility as well as a flexible work schedule which can include evening and weekend hours. This role will require some hours in the field which includes the parks, various locations within the operations districts, and occasional visits to the Denver Post Building downtown.

Job duties and responsibilities of this position includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Maintain and monitor expenditure controls for the department, performing and executing various financial functions on behalf of Park Operations, ensuring accuracy and completeness according to fiscal rules
  • Assist with the management of permitted events by reviewing and approving plans in line with park policies and DPR’s rules and regulations, being prompt and professional in communication with organizers and internal staff
  • Assist with the development and oversight of the department’s data initiatives
  • Perform a myriad of miscellaneous administrative tasks and special projects
  • Evaluate operational objectives or procedures and recommend or create modifications and solutions
  • Ensure DPR and Park Operations policies and procedures are being followed, helping course correct when necessary and offering helpful instruction to staff as needed

  • Education: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET, or TASC Certificate
  • Experience: Four (4) years of experience performing specialized and/or technical office support work of the type and at the level of Administrative Support Assistant IV
  • Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of education may be substituted for each required year of experience
