Be OUR NEW OUTDOOR CHATTANOOGA DIRECTOR!
The spirit of Chattanooga is that of collaboration and entrepreneurship. Nestled beautifully between mountains packed with trails, streams, and waterfalls, and home to globally significant ecological resources, the outdoors-and access to it-are some of our most valuable assets.
Home to 180,000 residents and counting, Chattanooga is the nation’s only tow-time winner of Outdoor Magazine’s “Best Town Ever.” However, our entrepreneurial spirit tells us that we could still do better. This is where you come in.
This best town ever is seeking a visionary to lead the City’s award-winning Outdoor Chattanooga Division of the Parks & Outdoors Department. Outdoor Chattanooga was born from a vision to drive our region forward. It’s about so much more than recreational programming. We’re looking for someone with the strategy and initiative to create generational change in the way we connect with our outdoor spaces.
Reporting directly to the Director of Parks & Outdoors, Outdoor Chattanooga’s Director will lead a team of professionals, volunteers, engaged businesses, and regional partners to create equitable and sustainable connectivity between our outdoor resources and the lives of every resident in every zip-code of our city. This is a unique opportunity to fully activate the Southern Appalachia’s most adventurous urban center and, through placemaking, elevate the value of the outdoors for the entire region.
