We are saddened by the destruction Hurricane Sandy has inflicted on so many mid-Atlantic communities. Unfortunately, we know that parks in many of these cities have been badly damaged, and we are reaching out to the national urban parks network to encourage you to support clean-up efforts.
Below is a list of CPA organizational members and friends who have been hard hit in New York and New Jersey, with links to websites where you can donate and learn about park restoration. Please help us spread the word about these recovery efforts and thank you for providing support.

CPF's Hurricane Sandy Recovery Fund supports parks and community groups in the hardest hit areas. Their immediate needs are to purchase and distribute the supplies needed to clean up parks and to staff volunteer organizing efforts. Your contribution to this fund will be used in the following ways: 1) Purchase critically needed supplies for immediate and long-term cleanup efforts; 2) Provide a pool of funds to be granted to local parks groups in support of their cleanup and repair efforts in some of the hardest hit areas in southern Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island; 3) Support free programming in parks aligned with the core mission of CPF, to promote, improve and enliven NYC parks across the five boroughs.
City Parks Foundation (CPF) is the only independent, nonprofit organization to offer park programs throughout the five boroughs of New York City. They work in more than 750 parks citywide.
